This major project has been managed by Heritage Restoration Services from inception.
The main building is Grade II listed, was in a dilapidated state and required extensive refurbishment and renovations.
Retaining the original character of the existing structure being a priority for our client.
The design proposal included adding a second floor, new staircase and a new build extension to the building, which required the demolition of an existing out building and new groundworks to allow for construction of the extension.
All interior floors were removed and new sub-base laid to allow for new flooring throughout. The main roof was stripped and new tiles installed. New structural steel work has been erected to allow for the new upper level and a stunning new skylight installed. All new electrics have been installed throughout.
The project has been professionally managed by Heritage Restoration Services, liaising with sub-contractors, engineers and designers and where possible experience local trades have been used on the project.
This project has been a labour of love for Heritage Restoration Services, having had a 20 year association with Lady Anne Dodd working on various other projects for her.
The building is to be re-named The Ken Dodd School of Happiness and will be a lasting legacy to Sir Ken Dodd in the area which he was born, raised and lived his whole life.
